XUNLI / PRIVACY

Your training data stays on your devices.

XUNLI needs no account, does not automatically send training records to the developer and uses no advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs.

Effective date: October 23, 2026
Applies to Gnod Studio's XUNLI iOS app, Apple Watch companion and this product website.

We do not collect personal data through the app

XUNLI's core features run locally. Through the app, we do not collect, receive, sell or share training records, body or health data, identity information or device identifiers. There are no accounts, developer servers, ads, analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking.

Apple's App Store handles the one-time paid download. The app has no subscriptions, in-app purchases or external payments. We do not obtain your payment-card details through the app.

What is stored locally

In its own storage, the app saves plans, scheduled training days, favorites, unfinished workouts and draft inputs, completed-set weight/reps/duration, warm-up or working-set labels, history, notes, perceived effort and associated times, plus goals, units, display and reminder preferences. This supports resuming, reviewing and restoring training; it is not automatically uploaded to the developer.

The app has no automatic cloud sync. iOS device backup, restoration and file services may process app data according to your system settings. Apple or your chosen provider manages those system features.

Data on a paired Apple Watch

With the watch companion, XUNLI uses Apple's WatchConnectivity to exchange plans, current sets, rest status, recent workout summaries, demonstrator preferences and guided-count playback progress between the paired iPhone and Apple Watch, without a developer server. The phone remains the record store; watch actions are confirmed only after the phone validates and saves them.

The watch keeps its most recent training snapshot and pending actions in its own storage for viewing while disconnected or checking after reconnection. It is not an independent history database. Live guided-count progress is not written to disk every second. Sync uses local random identifiers, sequence numbers and limited action receipts to prevent stale state or duplicate sets. These are not account or hardware identifiers, are not used for tracking and are not sent to the developer. Some sync fields are included in phone JSON backups.

Guided reps are calculated from elapsed time, not motion sensors detecting actual movements. Neither phone nor watch accesses Apple Health, reads heart rate, or calculates or uploads calories.

Backups, imports and manual sharing

You may export JSON backups or CSV spreadsheets, or restore from a JSON file you select. You choose the destination and recipient in the system interface. Files are passed to the selected file service or recipient only when you explicitly export, share or import. The app never automatically sends them to the developer.

Exported files may contain personal information such as training times, weights and notes, without additional encryption. Save them only in trusted locations and check recipients. Third-party file providers handle selected files under their own policies.

Before you confirm an import, the app keeps a local pre-import recovery copy to help reverse a mistaken import. That copy is not automatically uploaded to us either.

Notifications and system permissions

Training-day and rest-end reminders are off by default. The app requests notification permission only when you enable them. iOS schedules reminders locally; no remote push service is used. Reminders may appear on the lock screen. You can change visibility and sound in iOS notification settings or disable them at any time.

XUNLI does not request access to Apple Health, camera, microphone, photos, contacts, location or advertising tracking. Opening the backup you choose through the system file picker does not grant access to other files on your device.

Clearing and deleting

After confirmation in Settings → Data management, you can clear current training data. This does not delete files exported elsewhere or the local pre-import recovery copy. Device preferences such as display settings may also remain.

A disconnected watch may still display old cached data. Reconnect and refresh to receive the phone's current state. To remove cached data in the watch app's container, delete XUNLI on the watch. Deleting only the phone app should not be treated as erasing copies on all paired devices.

Deleting the app removes local data in its app container. Retention and restoration of system backups depend on your system settings. Files you saved or shared must be deleted separately at their destinations. Save any data you still need before deleting the app.

Sources and external links

Exercise sources, support and privacy links are handed to the system only when you choose to open them. External sites may receive information needed for a normal web visit, under their own privacy policies. Built-in illustrations and instructional text do not require opening those links.

We use them only to respond, troubleshoot and carry out necessary related communication.
