XUNLI / SUPPORT

Keep your practice going.

Your guide to plans, records and backups in XUNLI. If something goes wrong, preserve your existing data before contacting support.

Languages and existing records

Version 1.1.0 and later supports Simplified Chinese, English, Traditional Chinese and Japanese across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and all 62 exercise lessons. Check your regional App Store page for the version currently available.

The app follows system language preferences. In XUNLI, open Settings → App language to choose a language in system settings, then reopen XUNLI. Apple Watch uses its own language settings. Changing language does not clear history, favorites or plans. Plan names and notes you wrote yourself stay as entered.

Start and adjust a plan

On first launch, choose a male or female demonstrator, training focus, home or gym and weekly schedule, then preview and save your plan. Demonstrator selection changes illustrations, not training intensity; unsaved choices do not overwrite existing preferences. Later, edit the current plan in Plans to add, replace, remove or reorder exercises and adjust set targets and rest. Save your edits; cancelling keeps the original plan.

Today shows a training or rest day based on your schedule. An unfinished workout takes priority, with an option to resume. Your goal records your chosen focus; it is not an automatically generated, individualized exercise prescription.

Find exercises and choose a demonstrator

In Exercises, search by name or combine muscle-group, equipment and difficulty filters. Exercise details include setup, breathing, common mistakes, adjustments, precautions and sources.

Choose female or male in the exercise breakdown or the Exercise demonstrator setting. Both illustration sets are included in your purchase. View the three phases manually or start a pausable step loop. The loop switches key poses; it is not continuous video or a pacing cue.

Log sets, rest and resume

Before confirming each set, enter weight and reps, or seconds for timed exercises. Log left and right separately for unilateral exercises and distinguish warm-up from working sets. Confirmation starts the rest timer, which you can pause, resume, extend or skip.

Draft inputs and unfinished workouts are saved on device so you can resume after leaving or restarting. A workout keeps the kg/lb unit selected when it started; a settings change applies from the next workout. At least one completed set is required to save a finished workout to history.

Illustrations and timed rep guidance

The phone's workout screen switches between Demonstration and Rhythm count. For rep-based exercises, set a cycle duration and target, then start. Three key poses follow the same cycle; completing a cycle adds one rep. Pause, resume or restart as needed. Counting stops at the target.

This is a timed pacing cue, not video or sensor-based detection of your actual movement. Counts are not automatically saved as performance: check your actual reps, apply the count to the input, then complete the set manually. Guidance pauses when the phone app goes into the background or you leave the guided mode.

Apple Watch companion

Requires watchOS 10 or later and a paired iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Install XUNLI through the iPhone's Watch app and open XUNLI on both devices. Settings → Apple Watch on the phone shows pairing, installation and connection status and lets you refresh training information.

On the watch, view the plan, start or resume training, adjust current-set values, confirm completion, control rest and finish a workout. The workout screen cycles a step illustration every 3 seconds. Tap it to open the demonstration page; its menu can pause or resume the workout-screen loop. The demonstrator follows the phone's choice. At standard text sizes, the illustration and Complete button share one screen; large text uses separate illustration and logging pages.

After starting Rhythm count on the phone, the watch shows the matching phase, reps/target and running or paused state. The watch does not start or change the phone's pace. Even at the target, check the values and complete the set manually. Reduce Motion or an inactive display stops illustration cycling.

The phone saves workouts; the watch shows success only after receiving confirmation. Disconnected, it can show recent cached information but cannot independently start or log a workout. Stale guided-count state stops advancing and waits for sync. If confirmation or sync is pending, open XUNLI on the paired iPhone, then refresh or retry as prompted on the watch. The watch does not track heart rate or calories or access Apple Health.

Edit history and understand progress

Open a workout in History to correct completed-set values, change set types, add notes and perceived effort, or delete the record after confirmation. The original workout time stays unchanged.

Progress compares working sets with the same exercise, equipment, measurement, side and weight. Values from different machines or exercises are not directly comparable. Charts do not estimate calories, body changes or maximum strength.

Back up, move devices and restore

  1. Open settings at the top right of Today → Data management, export a JSON backup and save it somewhere you can find again.
  2. On the new device, import JSON on the same page. Review the preview, choose how to handle differences with existing records or plans, then confirm.
  3. CSV is for spreadsheets and your own analysis, not full restoration. Keep JSON for a complete restore.

There is no account or automatic cloud sync. Through the system file interface, you may choose local storage, iCloud Drive or another installed file provider. These services are managed by you and the provider. Backup files have no extra encryption; keep them secure and do not share them publicly.

Before import, the app saves a local recovery copy. Clearing current training data does not delete exported files or that copy. Deleting the app may remove its local data; export a backup before uninstalling.

If startup reports unreadable data, first export the original data using the error screen, then contact support. Do not uninstall as the first troubleshooting step.

When reminders are silent

Training-day and rest-end reminders are off by default. Enable them in app settings and allow notifications. Also check iOS Settings → Notifications → XUNLI and Focus settings. The system delivers local notifications; sound and timing depend on system settings.

Pausing, skipping or ending rest cancels its pending reminder. After changing system time zones, open the app and check training days and reminder times.

Purchase and feature scope

XUNLI is a one-time paid download with no subscriptions, in-app purchases or ads. Your regional App Store page shows the actual price. For purchases, billing or refunds, use Apple's purchase support service.

Requires iOS 17 or later, supports iPhone and iPad, and includes an Apple Watch companion requiring a paired iPhone. Core phone training, illustrations and logging work offline; watch logging requires a phone connection. There is no Apple Health, heart-rate, calorie or automatic cloud-sync feature.
